Hey guys,

My past excuses to get rid of the tank were for college reasons, financial reasons, and latest was the lack of being in a suitable location for DISPLAY!

Well, I finished college! I just got a promotion and brings me all over the tri-state so I'll be getting every great deal plus the best LFSs in the area! All on company gas, toll and parking! ha

My last reason is why I went with this setup. It is not overbearing as many other tanks and fits right in the corner of my living room without eating up a lot of space.

Equipment list:
DB 30 rimless tank + stand - from Rich aka jackson239058747895
Cadlights 18pro sump - from Matt aka JOHANNA

Equipment already in hand from previous build:
LED generic fixture but with Bridgelux LEDs
Conduit Tree lamp
Titanium heater
DJ power panel

Supplies needed:
SCA301 skimmer
LR - BRS shelf w/base
LS - Fiji Pink
controller - AC JR or RKL, whichever lands first. Only need it to control temp and lights.
Chaeto
Mangroves

Goal of the tank.
Landscape Options
1) 3 shelves on different levels of the tank utilizing shelf w/base rock from BRS.
2) 1 big rock with good shape in center for SPS with mini islands for zoas, acans, montis and 2 gsp islands.
3) bonsai - played out and done so many times that it is no longer unique but still a great style!

Fish list:
pair of blackice
flame angel
a nice pipefish

Other:
cleaner shrimp
CLAMS!
I would like to get some unique inverts.

SPS dominant tank

I'll be using 2 reactors for BRS Carbon and Rowaphos, SCA301 skimmer and macros to hold down the excess nutrients. 2 part dosing and bi-monthly water changes will hopefully be all I need to keep up with parameters!

No water in tank and probably won't happen for another week or two! I'll post up again once the tank is situated with all the equipment in place and landscape has been added.

Current setup. Please note there will be obvious changes along the way!

Yeah. The next setup or final setup will have to be a starfire, miracles build, 150-180 and all high end equipment. So let's call it a "long-term" setup as I don't see that upgrade happening until I finally purchase my house! Hopefully in a year or two.

Cube is doing well and about ready for it's inhabitants.

I see pods all over the glass and hitchhikers (zoas, some serpent starfish, asternias, and 2 hermit crabs) from rock provided by yesjenks are doing fine.

A few things I need that'll order form BRS: GFO, GAC, and should probably add atleast one nice 10# pukani rock.

Reefcleaners order of snails and macro algae.

If I have the answer to your question please feel free to ask! Always found help here when I needed it.

BLACK ICE CLOWNS ARE IN! Thank you to R&R! Remember to support your local vendors especially if they support this great site!

Pictures will be in this weekend. Not proud but happy with it thus far. I decided to go with how it is now and add 2 floating rocks for my sps sticks. I want to make sure the sticks stay away from the Rainbow Anemone I spotted and now want from R&R!

System is not established enough so it'll have to wait!

First pictures loaded to original post!

Not much to see unfortunately. I am taking it SLOW so you can start hammering negative comments in a year time frame if it doesn't start looking like a beautiful reef like you guys!

Long time no update.

Changes

I went with a reefbreeders LED dimmable but no controller and VERY happy! I can get my 14-15k look that I want and you can see how happy the corals are.

I fixed my BM NAC6 skimmer body using silicone. I know it's not ideal since it's acrylic but it works. I figure that once it hardens it's not about adhering or bonding the acrylic but forming a seal.

I need to build a "tree". I have to figure out how to mold it. I have it figured it out in my head just need to look for the thread that explains what to use to make sure it is safe material for the reef.

thirty6 - I'll get some pics up tomorrow. My lights just went out/to blues. I'll wait for lights on tomorrow.

thanks.

it's the aquatecture rock from Flypenfly. it's definitely bigger than I anticipated as a portion of it sits outside the water. good reason to upgrade when I want to add even more sticks!!

So far I can't complain.

Since the addition of ROWAPHOS, I've seen the following:

HA taking a beating, browning out and clearing out!

Much faster growth on my sps encrusting on their locations.

W/C - bi-monthly
I am also now dosing nightly part a&b plus mag once a week. With recommendations by cubanheat1, I'll be getting some amino acids to see if I can get more growth and color.

Next is a six-line wrasse to battle my bristleworms!
