Foscam 8910 droid app needed

Just brought a foscam 8910. Set to wireless operation. Currently I have foscam viewer lite but it only works when I'm in home network not in 4g...which ap can do this for a Samsung galaxy s3?

I'm also looking how to remotely view dt from internet IE browser from a laptop.
The dyndns.com doesn't give free site anymore looks like....how can I get this free ?

Is port forwarding setup on your router for the Foscam?

You can sign up with http://www.no-ip.com/ it'll allow a free personal account, but needs to be verified every month to be kept active; so use an email address you monitor frequently.

No not yet...gonna try now.mine is a Verizon fios wep router.

After I setup port fwd I will try no-ip.com

As Widdy Stated you need to set up Port Forwarding in your Router. As far as NO-IP that is what I use, you do need to verfity the account every month. You also get 3 hosts for free. I have the paid version, I think it was $20 for the year unlimited hosts.

The good part about Fios is that your Actiontek router (as long as it is a newer one), will working seamlessly with No-Ip. You put your no-ip information into the router and it will automatically update your dynamic IP with the host that you create. If your router cannot do it, you will need to install a very small client side (on your computer) application that keeps your IP updated with no-ip.

Look on the side/bottom of the Actiontec. I think Verizon includes the admin/password there.

I have same router. Look right above those buttons. Isn't there 2 dropdowns???? You use the first one and set the ip in that one, and then the second is what you want to forward

Yes ! I don't see foscam etc but I'm trying 'custom ports '....

You wont see foscam.

I assume that you set the camera to a specific IP address?? ie 192.168.1.150 or something that is on the same subnet that your network is.

Make sure that you set it as STATIC in the camera. Then you forward to the specific IP that you set the camera to.

And you cannot forward port 80, that is for web traffic (browsing). use an arbitrary number i usually use up the the 9000's when i configure peoples devices like apex.

I don't see admin /pw on the router just the ssid and key info.

When I selected the ipcamera from left drop down and tried the fwd...I got errors saying there are conflicts. I changed some options still conflicts error.

Is it important I see the 'add' button which I don't see? If so I can call fios support.

Ur right I didn't do anything in the router. I just removed the wifi in smart phone and connected to the droid foscam appl with external ip addr and my port .....it worked and I was panning via 4g...woohoo.

Lastly, can I have the camera on for several days without turning off ?

I sure hope so... not much of a surveillance camera if it needs to be turned off :lol2:

But I've only had my 8910W since Black Friday, and haven't set it up yet. But I would imagine and hope that continuous run wouldn't be an issue.

I have a little webcam running all the time and it is not an issue.

All was fine and then my external IP changed ... now how can I remotely view my DT by typing the ext IP from remote location if it changes ?

I did this http://xx.xx.xx.xx:yyyy(my port fwd id) /

Even my droid app has this (dynamic ?) id ? I even got a host from no-ip .info with the changing ext. IP .

What do I do ?

Did you install the client from NO-IP when you signed up? What was the hostname you picked when you signed up?

I just installed the noip duc v3.0.4 for Windows, setup for run on start up.

Now everything is fine. But how often does ip address change?

If I'm say out of the country for a month should nt the pc or laptop be run in that router to update the dynamic ip when the duc runs. How can I do that?
