After 8 months of sadness I decided to go in search of another best friend.

B'day 2/14/2011, so that puts her a litte under 6 months.

Smart as a whip! Has had no prior training as they had to many pups to care for. Never had a leash on when I picked her up Tuesday night in Rahway,NJ, yet was doing fine by the next morning. Not only was she not bucking the leash, she is actually heeling with no training. She also does not go through the door, or any doorways until I have gone through (in other words; She recognizes who is alpha here).
She was not housebroken, yet has only had 1 accident in the house. Last night she peed on the floor, I yelled NO, and this morning she went outside as she should.
She was not crate trained, doesn't want to go in yet, but once in she is quiet. No crying, or whinning.
Yet another plus is that she resembles my Nehron (Nehron is the fawn dog in my avatar that crossed "Rainbow Bridge" this past December 26, 2010.
I consider myself well blessed to have found this wonderful girl!
She is one of the smaller ones of the litter. If anyone is interested there are 2 females, and 1 male left. I can put you in touch with the owner of these pups.
The family is desperately seeking homes for them!:hug:
FYI, New York City is currently having a program that takes a loud off of the shoulders of Pit & Pit/Mix dog owners. It is called:
"OPERATION PITS"
(877) 900-7487
They will spay/neuter any pit or pit/mix free of charge regardless of income as long as you are a NYC resident.
They will even do a vasectomy on your male pit if you have issues with your friend not having his testies.
If your pit gets fixed by them they will also receive FREE vaccines, and microship!!!!
I will definitely be taking advantage of this program with my girl!!! Actually waiting for the call back to set up the appointment. No standing in line to be one of the first 25 animals at the ASPCA mobile, nor paying $125.
Nor over $300 at the vet for the spay alone.
Of course Pet Insurance is on the agenda within the next couple of days.:dog2:
