Tropical island

Did anyone go to tropical island today? I'm thinking about heading over there tomorrow to check out their fish stock. Anything exciting or off the beaten path?

Also... Were there any presidents day sales or similar?

Definatley worth the trip

James, I love the store. It's my favorite LFS on the island, actually. I was curious about fish that might be available this weekend. Did you see anything noteworthy?

i saw a angel fish.he was beautifull for 250.00 or something like that.i stared at him for like 5 minutes dont know what kind but defenitly rare

:lol2: ..now you're making me want to go... what color was the angel? Do you remember anything special about him?

i remember blue lines around him and all crazy colors:wink1:

i would call before you go they got hit with that kent carbon also i herd they lost a lot of sps

Anyone find it coincidental that trop island got hit with this and aqua hut got hit with bleach or copper. Whatever it was. Is some nature hating person running around to all good lfs?

That sucks about the carbon issue.. I'm not looking for corals though; only fish.
Regardless, these are the times we should go to a store and support them.. (same with AquaHut and the supposed bleach incident... although I've never been there myself, we should still help them out).

Tropical Island kinda hit themselves by using Kent carbon. I mean, it wasn't Miikes fault but he used the stuff. Nobody hit him

Understood. However they are still a good store and it's an unfortunate thing to have happen to them. I'm sure they can use our support

The carbon was just a bad batch similar to what happened with the bio pellets last year..it happens.

Let's hope so. Gonna swing buy and show some support soon and get some stuff.

No..that's WHAT happened lol It's the same as any other item that's sold..cars get recalled, food gets recalled when stuff is mass produced like that it's not always being watched and things happen. This is how law suits start lol

Sadly when it happens w/ food it's inevitable and they actually allow a certain amount of bugs and rat feces in stuff like peanut better etc etc so enjoy it's good for you it's extra protein. :usa1:

I only posted that in response to BamNYCs post. I love Tropical Island. I was in that store when he first opened. I would be showing support too, if he wasn't 1200 miles away:tongue1:

baamnyc it was carbon that "hit" tropical island nothing else

It was carbon. The lps and softies looked fine but some of the sps had browned out. Mike said essentially the same thing.

I saw a lot of cool angels there today. I ended up buying a tank raised TINY maculosus angel and a really nice looking flame hawk.

They had a beautiful majestic, Juvenile and adult colored emperor, Nice flame angel. Changing blue face. A large French...
