where to get needlewheel?

i tried the mesh mod on my needlewheel skimmer and it's way to loud for my taste. now i have an aquabee w/ no needlewheel. can anyone point me in the right direction.

i think they only sell replacement needlewheels to H&S owners so every Tom Dick and Harry doesn't turn their cheap Aquabee pump into a kickass needlewheel pump...You might be able to pull one over on them though i've never tried.

they use either aquabees or eheim

after looking it looks like only the pumps are listed as "For Replacement Only. Call For Availability"

so you might be able to order the impellar no prob

U got a pic of the mesh wheel? I did the mod to my DAS pumps and it sounds the same. How much air were you sucking after the mod?

i'll get a pic rich. i have no way of measuring the air intake, sorry

what about those aquamedic needle wheel impellers??

jon, maybe you might fix it by adding/removing a layer of mesh. maybe it's rubbing against the sides or something.

the first time i put the mesh i hardly got any bubbles so i decided to put another layer of mesh and now it's way to loud. i made sure no material was sticking out the sides but w/ the fast rotation of the impeller who knows.

I used the 3m stuff for the DAS impellar. The pump went from sucking 5lpm to 8lpm. It does need to be cleaned often to work at peak performance though.

rich i put one layer of mesh and tied it down w/ fishstring but the bubbles looked slow. i figured since i didn't use enough material the first time i would put another layer. then it became too loud.

The mesh was too big for the small impellar when I tried it. Try the 3m paint striipper wheel.

rich do mean the material wasn't dense enough? were can i get that stuff you mentioned?
