Just set up my 180 gallon tank. Went with the marine orbit pro series 72" light after it was reccomended to me. Now that the tank is up and running I'm not sure I have enough coverage with the single light as I have a lot of shadows and the back half of the tank doesn't get light. Debating on whether I should:

1.just purchase another orbit pro and run two of them

2.buy a couple kessils (my original light choice) to supplement the orbit.

3. Try to return the orbit pro and purchase 3 kessil 360w

I'm open to opinions on lighting. I originally purchased to orbit pro due to the lower price compared to most other LED but now considering it's looking like I will need at least two of them the price is negligible. I'd be into the dual orbits about 1200$ where as 3 kessils and controller would run me about 13-1400. This is all of course assuming I can return the orbit I have now.
I'm leaning towards option 2. Purchasing 2 kessils to supplement the orbit marine pro and maybe eventually selling the orbit and purchasing a 3rd kessil. Just want to see everybody's opinion. I plan on growing mostly softies/lps and maybe a few low light dos down the road (monti's/bird nest)

Anybody have any experience with the orbit marine pro will I be happy with two on this size tank for my needs?

To adequately light a 6 foot tank with LEDs takes a lot of fixtures, 5 or 6 fixtures. Or they need to be high enough above the tank to deminish shadows. I'm not familiar with the light, but if there is any way you could raise it up from the tank it could help visually. Or you can look into adding a t5 retrofit to fill it in and add spectrum.

The 8 bulb ATI 60" Sunpower is a good choice for your tank. I have the same on mine and keep SPS anywhere. I don't think 3 Kessils will be enough, but others may chime in. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think I may have not explained it correctly. The light I currently have on the tank is a 72" LED light (it is a bar similar to t5's) it covers the entire tank lengthwise. My issue is that it doesn't light up front to back fully (24"). I am trying to decide if I should just buy another orbit marine pro or for a couple hundred more buy two kessils to supplement the single orbit marine pro. my thinking is that the kessils would allow me to grow some sps underneath them if I decide to in the future, whereas the dual orbit marine pro lights would limit me to mostly lps
