Stores in Yonkers and around ..

I know in the past few months we have had a lot of new stores/vendors open up shops in Yonkers and around.

Which stores are worth a road trip? Looking to visit some this coming week.

Good prices
The reef shop but call ahead, been there twice and stock has been limited mid week. Seems restocking takes place on weekends.
Pet aquatics or something like that also has good prices

If the road trip is to be amazed and not necessarily shop there is a store in CT that was def a 10 on the wow factor.

I think he's referring to the stores in Greenwich Ct...

There's 2 in CT, somewhat close,, Greenwich has house of Finn's (really upscale, they have a lot of nice things,, done rare and stock many things, my only downside is prices are out of my range,, $5 a snail,, but they've got a lot of stuff def worth checking out,, the other store is in New Canaan and I don't recommend it.)

Definitely not max reef. They never had anything great anytime I've visited any of their stores. They have a good fish selection but that's about it.

Most likely the Greenwich store. I forgot about that place.

Yes, House of Fins, but the other is Greenwich Aquaria...definitely NOT the store in New Canaan!

Reef shoppe is ok great prices and your right definitely call before you make a long trip

I have not been to the new max reef due to distance but from pictures it looks like their holding capacity would offer tons of options.

With max reef pricing and all those tanks i have to assume that those close to it are very happy with the move.

Have you seen their prices....

FWIW,
I stopped by today at AX Signature Corals today for the first time.

The place is only 1 mile from my office... easy parking too

Ralphie is a nice guy, and seems to have good knowledge of coral.
He has really strong connections with suppliers.

I am a SPS guy, and I saw some really interesting coral growing in his system. I am going back to pick up some cool frags..:bigeyes2:

Max reef sucked!! Most of all fish sold were diseased and anyone who bought from them without QT'ing is a fool. IN fact, they closed up shop in CT out of blue. They are done. They did the same thing is the Bronx the last time. Open one day, gone the next. What does that tell you?
