Did you use live rock or dried rock? Dried rock can give a false spike. You need to be real careful. 3 weeks is kinda quick for a cycle to complete unless you used seeded live rock. How was the tank cycled? Ammonia, Dead shrimp? Is this a FOWLR tank or Reef? A clean up crew isn't really needed until you have something in there that needs to be cleaned up ;)

Bro, don't let these dudes take from ur experience, there's people in here that won't crucify u, they seem to forgot it's a hobby, some people here seem like reefing is all they do all day and r experts, they need to get out the house and get some fresh air once in a while

It actually has a lot to do with his question since he said his tank has only been set up for 3 weeks and that is typically not enough time for a cycle to complete to the point that inverts can live in the tank safely. Ron and Bobby weren't being rude or aggressive at all, just asking simple questions so they could provide the OP with a better answer, so there's really no need to throw a fit.

I'm jus saying he wants to know how many snails would be good for his system, so y not give him an answer cus u don't think he's ready? I think we can all agree that everyone's system is different, I seen tanks cycle in 2 weeks, he just transfered his tank over from one location to another, people on here tend to do that alot where they wanna ask u 21 questions when it doesn't call for it

Because it's a hobby that deals with live animals that most of the members here have a great amount of respect for? None of the questions that anyone asked on this thread were unreasonable, nor are most of the questions people ask before they start dishing out advice to new members with new tanks who may or may not know what they are doing.

He was asked The first time if he was cycled, and he answered, and then he gets interrogated as to how he cycled, u don't think that's a little too much?

No, because he wasn't being interrogated. He was asked a simple question sans attitude by a knowledgable member, backed by reasons as to why he was being asked the question in the first place.

it always happens bro, lol

What always happens?

He was asked The first time if he was cycled, and he answered, and then he gets interrogated as to how he cycled, u don't think that's a little too much?

No. How many threads do we see where an individual posts how his tank has cycled in 3 weeks only to have them come back 3 weeks later crying that everything in their tank has died, my water is cloudy, my fish look like crap etc? The OP has 7 posts. NOBODY knows his situation or experience. Rather than see living things possibly wasted due to inexperience he was asked a FEW basic questions. Why do you seem to have such an issue with it?

Bro, don't let these dudes take from ur experience, there's people in here that won't crucify u, they seem to forgot it's a hobby, some people here seem like reefing is all they do all day and r experts, they need to get out the house and get some fresh air once in a while

Crucify? PLEASE show me where that was done. While your at it, show me where I come off as an expert. As far as getting out of the house...You average almost twice as many posts as I have per day since we both joined. Seems I get out a bit more ;)

Seriously ? You asked a question. Due to your number of posts and what appears to be a question that a somewhat experienced reefer really wouldn't ask you were asked a few basic questions that A: Might help us better answer your question and B: Possibly have saved you money and spared a few living creatures. Yet you have a problem with us? You state that the rock sat for a week. Was it dry? Kept wet and circulated with established water? Whoops, there I go asking questions again. Good luck with the tank. If you did some searching you'd find almost all of us are helpful understanding people. Sorry to see you leave if you must.
